Greenhill Musicians Earn Superior Medals at TPSMEA Contest

On March 2, Greenhill School hosted more than 700 students from the north Texas area who performed solos and ensembles at the annual TPSMEA contest.

Greenhill band, orchestra, and piano students had another successful year, with 93 musicians earning a 1st Division (Superior) medal for their solo performances, and three ensembles (trumpet quartet and two different woodwind quintets) also earning 1st Division (Superior) medals. Twenty-five Greenhill students qualified for the State Solo Contest in May.

Thanks to all the Upper School teachers, fine arts teachers, librarians, and dining hall staff who allowed the contest to be held in their spaces; security for watching campus; and facilities staff for keeping the place looking so great.

Special thanks to Nick Paraskevas, Tony Lopez, and Brian Donnell for teaching the students and helping with equipment moving during the contest.

Finally, a huge thank you to the dozens of parents and students who worked many hours during the day as room monitors to keep the day’s schedule on time.
